Mineral Tramways Coast to Coast Trail

This superb trail links the harbour of Portreath on the North Coast with Devoran on the South Coast. It follows the route of the old horse-drawn tramroads. The main trail is 11 miles, but there are additional loops. It passes within about a mile of Chiverton Park, and there are several locations where bikes may be hired. It makes an ideal walk for those with or without dogs who wish to see a bit of Cornwalls mining history. Using the trail in the busy summer months can be a way of getting to the beach at Portreath (cycling at a leisurely pace takes about 45 minutes) without getting caught up in the traffic.
